EMPLOYER SPONSORED VISAS
Employer sponsored Visas allow lawfully operating Australian and overseas employers to sponsor highly skilled overseas workers to live and work in Australia. You must have a recognised qualification and skill or experience in particular occupations. Immediate family members included on the application are also entitled to live and work in Australia on these types of visas.
TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE TSS (SKILLED VISA) (SUBCLASS 482)
This temporary visa lets an employer sponsor a suitably skilled worker to fill a position they can’t find an Australian to fill this position. This visa allows skilled workers to come to Australia and work in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor. However, this visa can be valid for up to four years and skills gained on this visa may lead to permanent residency.
As of 18th of March 2018, this visa subclass 482 has successfully replaced the common visa subclass 457 which use to be the most common pathway for Employers to bring overseas skilled employees and since then 457 visa has been retired and replaced with the new Subclass 482 – Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa..

EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME (SUBCLASS 186) (DIRECT ENTRY)
This visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers. It allows you to work in Australia under one of three streams:
- The temporary residence transition stream.
- The direct entry stream.
- The agreement stream.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYER SPONSORED VISAS
The following requirements must be met for all employer sponsored visas:
- Employer must be approved for standard business sponsorship.
- Visa Applicant must be nominated by an approved employer lawfully operating in Australia.
- Visa applicant must meet the skills, age, qualifications and English language requirements unless exemption applies.
- Must apply under the stream for which you have been nominated.
- Must meet certain health and character requirements.
