ANMAC skills assessments.
Plan your nursing migration matter.

Discuss the appropriate assessment, occupation evidence and the connection with your Australian visa plans.

Connect your assessment to the actual visa plan.

ANMAC assesses nursing and midwifery skills for relevant Australian migration pathways. Before paying for an assessment, check whether the proposed visa requires it and which assessment type fits your circumstances.

TSIE assists nurses with skills-assessment planning and applications within an agreed scope. We can discuss the relevant occupation, the evidence behind your qualifications and employment, and how the assessment relates to your migration plans.

Which ANMAC assessment should you consider?

Under the currently published process, the Modified skills assessment is for eligible applicants with current Australian or New Zealand nursing or midwifery registration. The Full skills assessment has different qualification, approved overseas registration and work-experience requirements. Overseas registration alone does not establish eligibility.

Use ANMAC’s current assessment information before choosing. Assessment selection, occupation evidence and whether employment needs to be assessed should be considered together.

Announced changes to check before applying.

ANMAC has announced new assessment names, revised fees and a new portal for later in 2026. Announced nursing categories include Essential, Essential Plus and Comprehensive. Its notice says to continue using the current process until further advice. Check the official commencement information rather than assuming the new categories are already active.

Prepare a consistent evidence history.

  • Identity and any relevant name changes.
  • Nursing qualifications and transcripts.
  • Current and previous professional registration.
  • Relevant employment periods, duties and references.
  • English evidence where required for the assessment.
  • Any OSCE, adaptation or other pre-registration evidence relevant to your history.

Document formats, verification requirements and employment evidence vary by assessment and occupation. Use the current ANMAC checklist and explain discrepancies accurately. Some registration verification must come directly from the relevant authority.

How TSIE can assist.

We can assess the proposed pathway, review the evidence needed, help prepare an authorised application and address requests within the agreed service scope. Any required client consent must be completed before we act as your representative.

Common questions.

Is an ANMAC outcome the same as Ahpra registration?

No. Nursing registration and a migration skills assessment are separate processes. A positive assessment does not itself authorise nursing practice or grant a visa.

Can I still use the old Modified PLUS assessment?

ANMAC’s glossary records Modified PLUS as expired on 1 July 2025. Check the current assessment options before relying on older articles or social posts.

Does a positive assessment guarantee an invitation or permanent residence?

No. Visa criteria, supported points claims, nomination or invitation processes and the final visa decision are separate matters.
